Hello! I'm Renee Wen. I major in the department of International Business in National Chengchi University. I love to listen to western music. Among them Maroon 5 and OneRepublic are my favorite bands. If any of you loves them as well, just leave messages to let me know =D. I also like to eat chocolate, ice cream, and any other kind of food that taste sweet. Somehow I'm not fat because I play sports very often. Well, I think I'm quite easy-going, so it is very fine for you to come to know me or invite me to play volleyball with you. This is my first time to be a blogger, and also the first time I leave home and live in the dormitory, so in this blog I will share my dorm life with you. Hope you will like it and even share your own dorm life with me!

How bunnys express their feeling

Do rabbits have a voice? Some of my friends are curious about this. Actually rabbits don't have voice cords so that they can't really "speak". However, that doesn't mean that they have nothing to say. Rabbits do make some vocalization with their noses or feet to express their feeling. Here are some examples.

Rabbits make that stomping noise because of fear or angry. In this video you can see the rabbit was thumping its back leg, warning the person to back off. In my opinion, it might be angry because it felt someone step in its territory. My rabbits, Tsau-tsau and Ya-ya, sometimes do so as well if  I bother them when they are sleeping.

Rabbits flop when they feel relax and secure!

(You can just watch the first ten seconds of the vedio.)
If rabbits are very happy, they dance around, hop high in the air, and run across the room at high speed. Recently, I found that Tsau-tsau will do that when I sing to her. Maybe she likes it! Ha! Ha!

  1. Dear Renee,
I never keep pets because I’m afraid of animals, including rabbits. But after watching “The Bonny Flop” on your blog, I really think rabbits are adorable. Besides, you mentioned that rabbits would express their feelings by making some vocalization. That’s good because rabbits would not make loud noises like dogs which usually bark constantly. That’s why I prefer rabbits to dogs. Moreover, I think you are a good owner. You take good care of your rabbits. Tsau-tsau and Ya-ya are very lucky.

  2. Hello Renee~
How useful your article is! I have learned so much through reading it. I never think of that if rabbits have voice cords or not before reading your articles.
Rabbits' habits are so special! When they're angry, they are like kids! I enjoy seeing these videoes so much because rabbits are so cute >__< I like the way they flop! If I were them, it must be comfortable to flop like that!
I consider your singing must be wonderful so that your rabbits would do something like that! I hope your rabbits to be healthy and energetic everyday! They must bring you a lot of joy!:)

  3. Hi Renee,
I never know that rabbits don't have voice cords and how would they express their feelings. Thank you for teaching us that! And I think the flop part is so cute. Also I think the background music of that video matchs so well, haha!
I keep two dogs and one cat in my home Puli, and I know the happiness that pets bring to you.:) Mentioning the way bunnies show their angriness, I think of my dog Kuma. When he feels angry with someone, he will look sideways at him!
Thank you for sharing this, it's so great.

  4. Hey, Renee :)
I cannot believe that I didn't realize rabbits had sound before, sounds ridiculous right? :P Sometimes, I'm jealous of those who keep pets in their house because every time they talking about their pet their faces glow all over with pleasure. And I also see the happiness from your article. I think Tsau-tsau and Ya-ya are glad to have such a nice family like you. It's so wonderful that you show these experience to us.

P.S. The second film is so cute!!
